One of the more difficult items to use in scrapbooking, can be printed vellum or transparencies. Because of there translucent properties, they can be difficult to adhere to a page without showing through. However I have found a few ways to get good use out of my less than opaque favorite products.
1. Staples
I never got a tiny attacher, I just use my regular old office supply store stapler to do the trick. As see in the layout below, a couple of staples and you are good to go.
2. Sewing
For the layout below, I wanted to use the entire page mounted on another. To stabilize the project before I sewed it together, I completed the rest of the layout first. Then added adhesive behind the photo to secure the transparency. I slowly went around the edge with my sewing machine to make sure the pages didn't pucker. I love the way it turned out.
3. Layer
Layers provide at least part of a hidden surface to apply adhesive on specialty papers. I think next time I might try layering patterned paper, transparency and vellum. I'm interested to see how this could look.
I hope these ideas help you pull out those gorgeous specialty papers and start using them! I know I need to be better about using my favorites and not just hoarding them.
